One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. – Bob Marley
Note: This guide is not about floating pool speakers, this is about futuristic floating speakers.
The Best Floating Speakers
Without further ado, let’s go over the top 6 floating speakers!
Colocrown Floating Globe Maglev
You can get this floating speaker on Amazon here.
- Magnetic float
- Low energy use
- LED globe lights
- 360 degree rotation
- Base is made to look like a book
You can get this awesome floating speaker for less than $125 on Amazon, and the quality is pretty darn good. The Bluetooth is good for about 30 feet, so you don’t have to worry about walking too far away from the speaker. Getting the globe to float is very easy, and they give very detailed instructions on how to do it.
There is another globe you can buy for under $85 and the only difference is that it is black and gold. That one is really cool looking, but I am personally a bigger fan of the blue globe. If you want to check out the black and gold globe click here. The blue globe speaker is really cool, and unique, because it is a very detailed globe. It looks classy and elegant, as well as looking super futuristic. The speaker actually sounds pretty good, so this is more than just a novelty toy. I will say there aren’t too many reviews about this speaker on Amazon, so it is hard to judge how long time users feel about this speaker.
I really am a fan of this floating speaker, but I do feel like it is decently pricey, especially since the black and gold one is considerably cheaper. On the other hand, often times you get what you pay for and this speaker feels nice and sturdy. Because of the price, I am giving this a 4 out of 5 stars. If the price were a little lower this would be a damn near perfect floating speaker.
Hellosy Star Wars Death Star Levitating Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker
You can get this perfect nerdy floating speaker on Amazon here.
- Its the Death Star
- Glow in the dark
- Voice pairing
- Extra USB port
- IT IS THE FREAKIN’ DEATH STAR
This is the perfect gift for a Star Wars geek (like yours truly). Excluding the fact that this is the Death Star, this really is a great floating speaker. The sound is surprisingly good, and it does look great on display. The lights and glow in the dark features really make this speaker pop wherever you decide to place it. I also love that this can be commanded by voice, so you can tell your Death Star to play music (which you got to admit is super cool).
Now comes the negatives… Many people have problems actually getting the Death Star to float, it is a painstaking process and some people have experienced the globe just falling when they have had their music on. Now I never experienced this issue, but some have said they did. Another issue I personally have is the pricing. This floating speaker comes in at just under $185, which is pretty expensive considering this isn’t licensed by Lucas Films or Disney. I still love it, but that price is pretty dang high.
While I love the fact that this is a floating Death Star, but it is decently expensive for no clear reason. The speaker sounds nice, but not necessarily almost $185 nice. But, it is still an awesome Star Wars display and it lights up. I think this deserves a 3.5 out of 5 stars, but it does have higher reviews on Amazon.
7 Arc Star Floating Speaker
You can find this beauty on Amazon here.
- Magnetic base (obviously)
- Bluetooth connectivity
- 360 degree sound distribution
- Can charge smart phones and other USB devices
- Looks like the Death Star
Now this is definitely something I would buy that looks like the Death Star, but isn’t overpriced. This speaker feels sturdy, sounds great, and doesn’t break the bank coming in at just under $120. I really like the fact that the USB charger can actually fully charge a phone, and the speaker ball itself seems to hold a charge for a long time. The speaker ball itself is advertised as having 360 degree speakers, which means that you won’t have any dead spots where you can’t hear your music. It also looks great on display with its LED lights so you can show it off.
Another nifty thing about this product is that it is from an Amazon startup company, so the people who made this speaker really put a lot of work and effort into it so they could get funded. And let’s not forget how it looks; it has some serious Death Star vibes goin’ on. Which, as I told y’all before, excites me as a total Star Wars freak. The ball itself is very easy to get to float, unlike some other floating speakers.
I really like this speaker more than the previous Death Star floating speaker. It is priced well, feels sturdy, sounds great, and is a great decoration anywhere in your home. I think this flaoting speaker deserves a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
ICE Orb Levitating/ Floating Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker
You can check out this beauty on Amazon here.
- Sort of looks like R2-D2
- Magnetic base
- NFC Bluetooth pairing
- Sphere spins
- Base can be used for charging
I will start off by saying that this floating speaker is extremely similar to the speaker above. It isn’t the same company, but these two companies must have shared ideas or something. This speaker (to me at least) looks an awful lot like R2-D2 from Star Wars, which really does fit in well with the Death Star look the 7 Arc speaker has going on. This also has the 360 degree speaker setup like the 7 Arc does, which is an awesome feature for a speaker to have. In case you don’t know what NFC pairing is, it is basically just a faster way for your mobile device to connect to your Bluetooth speaker. Now there are plenty of Bluetooth devices that have NFC technology, which makes it really convenient to connect quickly.
This company is also a startup company just like 7 Arc is, so this is a good product that was worked on very diligently. This speaker also features LED lights so it is a great centerpiece and conversation starter.
I will say that it does not feel as sturdy as some of the other floating speakers out there, particularly the 7 Arc. That being said, it does not feel cheap by any means, just does not feel quite as sturdy as the 7 Arc or even the Colocrown (first speaker on the list). The price is somewhat fair, coming in at just under $125. Again, this is a nifty floating speaker and is decently well made, so the price is fair.
I personally really like this speaker, though I can’t say I like it better than the 7 Arc above. Now this speaker has quite a few reviews and has high ratings on Amazon, so you can look through all those reviews to make sure you have a good idea of what it is you are buying. I really think this speaker deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
ReVolt Levio- Portable, Levitating, Floating Bluetooth Speak System
You can purchase this final floating speaker on our list from Amazon here.
- Long lasting battery
- 360 degree speaker setup on sphere
- USB charging
- LED lights
To round out the last gadget on our list, we bring you the ReVolt floating speaker. Now this has some very similar features to many of the speakers above, so what sets it apart from the other speakers? Well, the price is one thing (coming in at just under $90), an app you can download to check on your floating speaker, and it is very easy to take around to different places. The app for this speaker is currently under production, and the app will let you monitor the battery life as well as some other things about the speaker. Speaking of battery life, this speaker can last almost 8 hours before it needs to charge, which is just as long as a typical portable speaker.
I think this is a great budget friendly floating speaker because it is pretty decent quality and costs less than $100, unlike the others on this list. I think this speaker deserves a 4.5 out of 5 stars and I highly recommend this speaker to anyone who does not want to spend more than $100 on a floating speaker.
As you can see Many of these floating speakers are decently affordable and sound good, making them a great centerpiece and conversation for your home. Now, is it worth spending that money? That is up to you to decide. Ultimately these speakers are first and foremost tech toys, so don’t expect cinema quality sound from them. If you have any questions, or know of any great floating speakers we didn’t include on the list, write them down in the comments below!
