Pandora desktop isn’t just any music streaming site. Pandora is dedicated to customizing the line-ups of songs that cater to your preferences. Think I’m lying? On their actual website, they claim to have a single mission and that is to “only play music that you’ll love.”
They believe that each individual person has a unique relationship with music. So Pandora uses various radio stations to pin point exactly what it is you like and are interested in. Since 2000, the music website has garnered plenty of followers and many account subscribers. And let’s not forget how simple it is to choose a radio station, making Pandora that much more desirable to music lovers.
All you have to do is type in the name of an artist or title of a song and you will be able to find the proper station. Pandora allows you to create up to 100 unique stations and you are able to refine them to customize them just a little bit more. With all this being said, I guess Pandora truly lives up to its name.
*Pandora mean “all gifted” in the Greek language, so maybe I’m over exaggerating a tad or this streaming service really is something special.

Now that you have the desktop app, you should probably know how it works. It should be easy for you to pick up and get started. There is plenty for you to do and once you start exploring Pandora’s services, you will realize why it is a great addition to your desktop.
You can create a station by typing in a certain artist or song. If you create a station and then decide it wasn’t what you were expecting, then you can always delete it. It is important to know that you can only delete them one at a time. But let’s say you have all your stations, you can edit them to fit more to your liking. Remove any unwanted thumbs down or thumbs up, remove varieties or change up anything else that you see fit.
There are many other features besides just these basic ones. These features include:
- Suggest music or comedy
- Tips to improve your listening experience
- Sleep Timer
- Alarm clock
Having access to all this music means you need to be able to organize your picks. This is what your profile is for. You can view all your activity (all recent interactions), bookmarks (tag songs, stations and artists), likes (anything you have liked will be viewable), following (follow friends on Pandora) and followers (see who is following you).
You can edit your profile whenver you want so it is more representative of you and all your favorites. To make your profile even more custom to you, you can add a picture of yourself. Just know that in order to upload a picture of yourself it has to be through your Facebook account. Connect the socail media site to the streaming site and there you go. Any changes you make to your Facebook profile picture will also be changed on your Pandora website.
Why use the app?
The Pandora desktop app is such a great service for anyone that loves music. The nice thing about it being uploaded to your desktop is that you don’t actually have to open up an Internet browser to use it. It is on the same level as any other application on your computer. So if you are intensely using the web and don’t want to have to leave the tab you are on, in order to change a song or just listen to music in general, then you don’t have to! You can have Pandora playing in the background and not have to worry about it accidentally closing when you close your Internet browser.
I love Pandora. It is one of my favorite music streaming services. I like that I can just choose a station and let it play. That is it. I don’t have to do anything else. I don’t have to keep up with it or keep opening the app back up to play another song. For as long as my computer is on and working, so will my Pandora desktop application. Music is a very important aspect in my life and anytime I can have it playing is a plus for me. What’s even better about Pandora One is that there are no ads. So now we can listen to music without all the interupptions of businesses trying to promote their own products. Unlike Spotify, you will always be on a radio station. Spotify has many playlists or you can pick and choose what specific songs you want. Sometimes that can be a little tedious to have to keep going back to Spotify and changing what you are listening to. When I am on Pandora, all I care about is the music and what I am going to listen to next. And that’s what Pandora cares about too. This is why the have expert music analysts who study music and help give the listener the ultimate music experience.
“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley
